Los números son la base de muchísimas conversaciones cotidianas en inglés: decir tu edad, hablar de fechas, dar un número de teléfono, mencionar precios o decir la hora. En esta lección aprenderás los números del 0 al 100, cómo hablar de edades, los meses, los días y cómo expresar fechas correctamente.

Cómo componer números del 21 al 99
Los números compuestos siguen siempre el mismo patrón: decena + guion + unidad.

Talking about Age — ¿Cuántos años tienes?
En inglés la edad siempre se expresa con el verbo To Be, nunca con have. La estructura es: Subject + am/is/are + number + years old.

Ordinal Numbers — Números ordinales
Los ordinales se usan para hablar de fechas. La terminación depende del número: 1st, 2nd, 3rd y todos los demás con th.
Regla de las terminaciones
- Termina en 1 → st (first, twenty-first)
- Termina en 2 → nd (second, thirty-second)
- Termina en 3 → rd (third, twenty-third)
- Todos los demás → th (fourth, fifth, twentieth…)
Excepción: 11th = eleventh, 12th = twelfth, 13th = thirteenth (aunque terminan en 1, 2, 3 usan th).
How to Say Dates — Cómo decir fechas
Para hablar de fechas en inglés usa siempre Month + ordinal number y la preposición correcta: on para días y fechas específicas, in para meses y años.
ON — días y fechas
Se usa cuando hay un día o fecha específica.
IN — meses y años
Se usa con meses o años sin día específico.
