🎯 Midterm Evaluation

My name is María. I am twenty years old and I am a university student in Heredia, Costa Rica. I am from a small town called Barva. It is a beautiful and peaceful place near the mountains.

My family is small but very close. My mother is a teacher. Her name is Elena and she is forty-five years old. My father is an engineer. His name is Roberto and he is forty-seven years old. I also have one brother. His name is Diego and he is seventeen years old. He is a high school student. He is not in university yet.

I am a student at the National University. My major is biology. My classes are interesting and my professors are very knowledgeable. My best friend at university is Ana. She is from Alajuela. She is twenty-one years old and she is a biology student too. We are classmates and study partners.

I am happy at university but sometimes I am tired. The classes are long and my schedule is busy. My favorite class is ecology. The professor is Doctor Mora. He is excellent — patient, clear, and very experienced. I am not a lazy student. I am hardworking and I am always on time for class.

On weekends, my family is together at home. We are relaxed and happy. My mother is usually in the kitchen, my father is in his office, and Diego is with his friends. I am always with my books — but I am not sad about that. I love biology!

It is Saturday, November the fifteenth. It is eight o'clock in the morning and the Vargas family is at home in Alajuela. It is a warm and sunny day.

The family has four members: the father (Pedro, forty years old), the mother (Lucía, thirty-eight years old), and two children — Sofia (thirteen) and little Marco (seven). They are all at home right now.

Pedro is in the kitchen. He is cooking breakfast for the family. He is making eggs, rice, and black beans — a typical Costa Rican breakfast. His apron is white and his coffee cup is on the counter. He is not eating yet. He is listening to the radio while he is cooking.

Lucía is in the living room. She is reading her book. Her book is on her lap and her glasses are on the table next to her. She is not watching TV. She is relaxing quietly and enjoying her morning.

Sofia is in her room. She is studying for her history test on Monday, November the seventeenth. Her notebook is open and her pencils are on her desk. She is not using her phone right now. She is concentrating very hard.

Little Marco is in the garden. He is playing with his dog, Coco. His ball is red and his shirt is blue. Coco is running and jumping. Marco is laughing and shouting. Their morning is loud and happy!

At eight thirty, Pedro calls everyone: "Breakfast is ready!" The whole family is coming to the kitchen. They are hungry and excited. It is a beautiful Saturday morning in Alajuela.
